The Game of Golf Explained
Golf is a game played by a selected few, mostly the rich elite who prefer to have a cool game with no hassle and crowds, no brushing shoulders with other players and most of all a white collar game where players are well dressed while playing and most of the time they don't sweat. The game is played with players using a club to hit the golf ball from one part of the ground to another aiming at a hole in the ground.
The place from where the ball is hit using the club is called the 'teeing ground' and the destination that the ball finds after it is struck is a hole called the 'putting green' area. The object is to hit the ball with the club from the teeing ground and send it straight into the hole in the putting green. There are a total of 18 holes that comprise of a single round of golf. Hence players should strike their clubs and send the ball into all the 18 holes to complete the game.
Golf balls are designed and manufactured by leading manufacturers and should be approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews before it is sold. A golf ball should weigh only 1.620 oz the equivalent of 45.93 grams only; it should have a diameter of 42.67 mm and not less than this. This ball should perform within a specified distance, velocity and symmetry limit. This is the most important tool for the game of golf.
The outer covers of golf balls have dimple patterns which are meant to optimize the aerodynamics of the ball. These dimples are the main control of the ball during shots, determining the trajectory, distance, straightness and the spin control when players consider a game of golf using the best golf balls. However, the many brands of golf balls sold make the game of golf and golf balls selection extremely interesting.
There are certain etiquette to follow while playing golf using golf balls.
Keep out of the putting range when other players are striking the ball. Similarly don't play until you're putting range is clear of anyone obstructing your view. Play without delay and leave the putting green when all players in the group have been holed out. Clubs should not be dropped on the putting green. The flag stick and divots should be carefully replaced. Talking, moving or standing beside a player while he is performing should be avoided. Try new groups, especially those groups which are faster in the game.
